Meet our Veterinarians

Dr. Gary Lindgren is a seasoned veterinary surgeon with extensive expertise in advanced surgical procedures. He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Following his passion for surgery, Dr. Lindgren pursued further training, completing a Medical/Surgical Internship at the Animal Medical Center in 1992, followed by a Surgical Residency at the same institution, which he completed in 1995.

Since August 1995, Dr. Lindgren has been an integral part of the Connecticut Veterinary Center team, serving as the hospital's Chief of Staff. With a focus on orthopedic, soft tissue, neurologic, and oncologic surgeries, Dr. Lindgren brings a wealth of experience and skill to his role. His dedication to providing high-quality care and his commitment to staying at the forefront of veterinary medicine make him a valued member of our team.

Dr. Donald Cox brings a diverse skill set and a passion for animal welfare to his role at Connecticut Veterinary Center. Graduating from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and later obtaining a Masters in Public Health from Yale University, Dr. Cox's educational background reflects his commitment to providing comprehensive and well-rounded care to his patients. With experience spanning general well-care and emergency medicine, Dr. Cox is VECCS RECOVER CPR certified, demonstrating his dedication to staying abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. His keen interest in honey bee health has led him to collaborate with local beekeepers, further enriching his understanding of environmental and public health issues.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cox finds joy in various pursuits, including gardening, crossfit, and beekeeping. An avid skier, he also treasures family time, often traveling with his wife and two daughters. Actively involved in professional organizations such as AVMA, CVMA, the Connecticut Beekeepers Association, and the Veterinary Honey Bee Consortium, Dr. Cox remains committed to fostering excellence in veterinary practice and contributing to the broader veterinary community.

Dr. Tineeka Michelle Compton, originally from Connecticut, embarked on her journey in veterinary medicine at Ross University in St. Kitts, WI. She completed her veterinary studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she developed a strong foundation in veterinary medicine. Dr. Compton has a keen professional interest in preventative medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery, striving to provide comprehensive care to her patients.

Outside of her veterinary practice, Dr. Compton finds joy in spending time with her family. She resides with her husband Michael, two handsome sons Jonathan and Justin, and their two beloved dogs, Abbey and Gordon. During her leisure moments, Dr. Compton indulges in various outdoor activities such as gardening, hiking, and bird watching. She also enjoys exploring new destinations through travel adventures, embracing the beauty of nature and diverse cultures.

Dr. Lindsey Mahoney is a dedicated veterinarian who obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Providence College in 2015. She then pursued her passion for veterinary medicine at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2019. Hailing from Connecticut, Dr. Mahoney has roots in Middletown and Old Saybrook.

With a deep commitment to companion animal health, Dr. Mahoney finds fulfillment in all aspects of veterinary medicine, particularly in emergency care and managing chronic illnesses. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in various hobbies including baking, hiking, and traveling. Dr. Mahoney cherishes moments spent with her husband, Matt, and their beloved yellow Labrador Retriever, Winston, exploring the outdoors and creating cherished memories together.

Dr. Skylar Schultz embarked on his journey in veterinary medicine with a strong passion and dedication. Graduating from Ross Veterinary School in 2020, with clinical rotations at TUFTs University, he brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to his practice. Driven by a lifelong fascination with animal health, Skylar's journey began at a young age, accompanying family pets to their veterinary appointments and eagerly asking questions of their veterinarians.

During his formative years, Skylar demonstrated his commitment to the field by volunteering at Connecticut Veterinary Center, both during his high school years and while pursuing his undergraduate studies at UCONN, transitioning seamlessly into his role as a valuable member of our veterinary team. Now settled in Glastonbury, he shares his home with two beloved cats, Nora and Charlie. Outside of his professional endeavors, Skylar thrives on outdoor adventures, indulging in activities such as hiking, camping, beach volleyball, and basketball. He also enjoys exploring new destinations and attending live music events, enriching his life with diverse experiences and cherished memories.

Nicholas Vargoshe joins our veterinary team with a wealth of experience and a strong familial legacy in animal care. Following in the esteemed footsteps of his grandfather, Richard Vargoshe, a renowned DVM in Woodbury, CT, Nicholas was inspired to make a career dedicated to the well-being of animals. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University, complementing his academic foundation with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from King's College, where he specialized in Mathematics.

As an Associate Veterinarian at Connecticut Veterinary Center, Dr. Vargoshe is dedicated to providing exceptional care to every patient he encounters. His diverse educational background and familial ties to the profession have equipped him with a deep understanding of animal health and wellness. With a commitment to compassionate and personalized veterinary care, Dr. Vargoshe strives to make a positive difference in the lives of both pets and their owners.
