Gary Lindgren, DVM
Head, Department of Surgery
Dr. Lindgren attended the University of Florida, college of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1991. He then completed a Medical/Surgical Internship at the Animal Medical Center in 1992, followed by a Surgical Residency also at the Animal Medical Center, completed in 1995. He then accepted a position as veterinarian at the Connecticut Veterinary Center in August 1995, and has been this hospital’s Chief of Staff. Dr. Lindgren performs all advanced surgery and related procedures at the Hospital-Orthopedic, soft tissue, neurologic, and Oncologic.
Lauren DelTosta, DVM
Dr. DelTosta graduated from Saint Joseph College in 2006 with a degree in biology. She spent three years working as a veterinary technician before heading down to Grenada where she earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in 2013. She has spent the last 3 years working in a private practice before joining the CVC team. In her spare time, Dr. DelTosta enjoys swimming, hiking, traveling, baking, and spending time on the beach. She lives at home with Will and her yellow lab named Tucker who is obsessed with squeaky tennis balls.
Dr. Donald Cox, DVM, MPH
Associate and Emergency Staff Veterinarian
Advanced Training: Public Health
Dr. Cox grew up in Washington State, graduating in 2006 from Washington State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He then moved to Connecticut to attend Yale University, graduating in 2007 with a Master’s Degree in Public Health. There, he met his soon to be wife and settled along the shoreline. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family. He has two dogs, and two brave daughters.
Satyender Rao Valipe, DVM, PhD, DACVM
Dr. Valipe graduated from veterinary school in Hyderabad, India in 2004. Then he proceed to obtain a PhD from the University of Connecticut in year 2011. Dr. Valipe is an American College of Veterinary Microbiologists board certified. He also plans to obtain Board certification from American Board Of Veterinary Practitioners in the near future. His special interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery of Feline and Canine species. In his free time he likes to play tennis and spend time with his family.
Tineeka Michelle Compton, DVM
Dr. Compton is originally from Connecticut. She ventured to Ross University in St. Kitts, WI for veterinary school, finishing up her studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She has a professional interest in preventative medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. She lives with her husband Michael, two handsome sons Jonathan and Justin, and two dogs Abbey and Gordon. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, bird watching, and traveling.
H.L. Hopkinson, DVM
Dr. Hopkinson completed his undergraduate program at the University of Connecticut, and then attended Washington State University, graduating in 1957. He has been a vet in the practice here in Hartford since 1958.
Jacquelyn Kubis-Luchina, DVM, CCRT
Associate and Emergency Veterinarian – Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist
Dr. Kubis completed her training at the University of Florida in 2003, then moved to Connecticut. She practices general medicine with a special interest in rehabilitation and pain management. She became certified in Canine Rehabilitation and Stem Cell Therapy in 2008. Dr. Kubis uses a multimodal approach to pain management incorporating pharmaceutical and rehabilitative techniques and modalities. These include laser therapy to provide faster healing, better conditioning, and an overall improved quality of life to the young and old.
Dr. Cynthia Petrauskas, DVM
Dr. Petrauskas was born and raised in Burlington, Connecticut. She graduated Louisiana State University in 2013, where she practiced generalized medicine in Las Vegas for 2 years before moving back to CT. She has a special interest in emergency medicine and the treatment of exotic species/pocket pets such as ferrets and rabbits. In her free time, Dr. Petrauskas enjoys hiking with her dogs, fossil hunting, fishing, and drawing.
Dr. Dianne Vigneau
Dr. Vigneau recently joined the Connecticut Veterinary Center team as Associate veterinarian. She completed her studies in veterinary medicine at St. George’s University and Iowa State University following her first career in national health policy (CIGNA Corp.) and health care/HMO administration (ConnectiCare). A native New Englander, she earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Newton College/Boston College, a Master degree in Biobehavioral Science from University of Connecticut, and a Master degree in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University School of Public Health.
As a lifelong learner, and a lifelong lover of animals, Dr. Vigneau is passionate about preventive care, and seeks to integrate the needs of the client with the medical, nutritional, and social needs of their furry companions. She has a special interest in in animal welfare issues of all species.
Dr. Vigneau has an adult son and daughter and lives with her husband Jake, her Samoyed Mishka, Standard Poodle Colbert and her beloved Holland lop Mr. BoJangles. A woman with many interests, two top ones are cooking and swimming, especially at lakes or at the seashore where she can totally unwind.
