Holly A. McGrath, DVM

Associate Emergency Veterinarian

• Year graduated: Masters degree, 2000; DVM, 2004

Dr McGrath is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens, NY. She was a Barn Manager, and riding instructor at D&D stables on Forest Hills for nine years. She returned to school and completed a Masters degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2000. She then attended the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary medicine.

As a Veterinary student, Dr. McGrath became active with RAVS (Rural Area Veterinary Services). Through this organization; she and other veterinary students from across the United States perform free spays and neuters in communities with limited access to Veterinary care. Dr. McGrath returned to the East Coast for an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Veterinary Specialists of West Hartford. During her internship, Dr. McGrath began working extra shifts here at the Connecticut Veterinary Center, where she discovered her love for Emergency Medicine. She later accepted a position, here at the Connecticut Veterinary Center, where she enjoys the fast pace, extensive caseload, and excellent mentorship that Connecticut Veterinary Center provides. Dr. McGrath continues to do volunteer work with RAVS, and more recently at the Humane Society in Vieques, Puerto Rico. She also has an interest in teaching and has been an adjunct lecturer in anatomy at the University of Hartford
